General Notes

The maximum wattages shown in this catalogue are based on Tungsten Filament lamps which have traditionally been used by consumers to give some idea of the light output to be expected from a light fitting. These are scheduled to be discontinued as new lamps are now more energy efficient and will no longer be available when current stocks are sold.

There are now many new versions of 'energy saving' lamps with ever more new models being produced and developed. As a guide the table below shows the equivalent wattages for halogen lamp bulbs.

As the manufacturers are constantly introducing new more efficient types such as LED Candle Lamps we suggest that you consultant your local distributor. Osram have a excellent web site with recommendations on alternatives to tungsten lamps.

Dimensions stated in our catalogue are in millimetres. A conversion table to inches is printed below. As our lights are hand made some small variation to stated dimensions may occur.
Proj - (projection) on wall lights is the maximum distance from the wall to the front of the fitting or shade.
'Height' on Chandeliers excludes 750 mm of chain etc supplied as standard. Longer chain and wiring can be supplied at extra cost.

Prior to dispatch all lights are individually tested for operation, insulation, and earth continuity on high voltage electronic test equipment. Lighting for the European market is certified to standards.

Lampholders are denoted by the following code:
ES - Edison Screw. - SES - Small Edison Screw.
PL - Low Energy. HAL - Halogen.

Fittings suitable for conversion to Low Energy are indicated by the symbol
Lights which can be manufactured for emergency operation are identified by the suffix EM.
