The maximum wattages shown in this catalogue are based on Tungsten Filament lamps which have traditionally been used by consumers to give some idea of the light output to be expected from a light fitting. These are scheduled to be discontinued as new lamps are now more energy efficient and will no longer be available when current stocks are sold.
There are now many new versions of 'energy saving' lamps with ever more new models being produced and developed. As a guide the table below shows the equivalent wattages for halogen lamp bulbs.

As the manufacturers are constantly introducing new more efficient types such as LED Candle Lamps we suggest that you consultant your local distributor. Osram have a excellent web site with recommendations on alternatives to tungsten lamps.
